LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A shooting at a party in Wilmington this morning turned into a police chase and led to a lockdown in the South Central neighborhood, according to media reports.

A police officer told Fox 11 that the shooting at the party at North Avalon Boulevard and West G Street at around 1 a.m. Wednesday turned into a ``raging gun battle.''

At least 15 people called police to report the shooting, Fox 11 reported.

Two women and a man were taken to hospitals. Two of the victims were taken by ambulances, the third was reportedly dumped at a hospital.

Police officers say they spotted an SUV traveling a high rate of speed at the scene and a chase ensued. The suspects led officers to South Los Angeles. They left the SUV and ran from officers in the area of East 41st Place and South Avalon Boulevard. The neighborhood was temporarily placed on lockdown while police searched for the suspects.

Police detained a woman. Two other suspects escaped, according to Fox 11.

Police told Fox 11 the wounded victims from the shooting were not cooperating and there were possibly more suspects and victims.
