A California man is dead after he was struck by a wayward bullet during a Cinco de Mayo Festival over the weekend.
The incident occurred on Sunday night at La Palma Park in Anaheim, where a group of juveniles got into a fight, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
At one point during the altercation, a 17-year-old pulled out a gun and fired it -- striking an innocent bystander who wasn't even involved in the fight, police say... And unfortunately the unidentified victim died after being transported to a local hospital.
"This event has gone on in Anaheim for 50 years," said Sgt. Shane Carringer. "We've never had something of this magnitude happen at an event like this."
The 17-year-old suspect, whose name hasn't been released, was taken into custody, police say.
There's no word on charges yet.
