Kelsie Whitmore has officially made baseball history!
The minor league player has become the very first woman in history to start a game connected to Major League Baseball.
She earned her place in the history books on Sunday when she took left field for the Staten Island FerryHawks.
But despite achieving the milestone -- the 23-year-old's appearance was less than spectacular...
Whitmore struck out in her first at-bat, was hit by a pitch in her second, and flied out in her third attempt against the Gastonia Honey Hunters.
