HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - Police today sought the public's help to identify a suspect they say is responsible for two burglaries and one attempted burglary at a Hollywood apartment complex.

The first crime was reported on April 3, when the man entered an apartment while victims were sleeping inside, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, which did not release the location of the building.

``The suspect stole property and used the victim's credit cards at several stores across Los Angeles,'' police said in a statement.

A doorbell camera captured images of the suspect leaving the area. He was described as Black and about 18 to 30 years old.

`` On April 27 ... the same person returned to the building and was recorded attempting to enter an apartment,'' police said. ``He was recognized and confronted by the victim of the prior incident and left without committing a burglary. Further investigation revealed he had burglarized an apartment in the complex on April 25.''

Detectives say the man frequents the areas of 54th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard, and Slauson and Western avenues.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call detectives at 213-972-2929, 877-LAPD-247, or Crime Stoppers at 877-LAPD-247. Tipsters may also use the website www.lacrimestoppers.org.
