Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle, Killed in Palms Area

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed in the Palms area of Los Angeles, police said today.  

The man was injured about 10:20 p.m. Thursday at Palms Boulevard and Vinton Avenue and died at the scene the Los Angeles Police Department reported. Information on his identity was not immediately available.  

The motorist, who was driving a Kia Soul, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.  

``It is unknown if speed was a factor in this collision,'' police said in a statement ``Alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor.''
