TEMPLE CITY (CNS) - Authorities today were attempting to arrest a man suspected of assault with a deadly weapon who barricaded inside a Temple City residence.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department units first responded to the residence located in the 10700 block of Fairview Avenue, near the city's border with Arcadia, at about 10:35 a.m., though further details on the call were not immediately available.
Special Enforcement Bureau and Crisis Negotiation Team units were called to the scene and were attempting to negotiate a surrender with the man as of about 2:30 p.m., according to Deputy Veronica Fantom.
Surrounding homes were evacuated by authorities as a precaution.
