The Biden administration has announced plans to make it easier for US schools to go green.

Vice President Kamala Harris announced a new plan that would includes funds to benefit several programs including:

  • An upgrade for heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in school buildings
  • A rebate program to replace old diesel-fueled buses with electric ones
  • Grants to help pay for LED lights, better insulation, and solar panels.

Harris noted that beyond the environmental benefits, these changes would be better for the health of students all around.

Cleaner air and lower emissions means less chances of a student experiencing an asthma attack and more ventilation lowers the risk of spreading airborne illnesses.
