Authorities ID Woman Killed in Car Crash in Lancaster Area

LANCASTER (CNS) - Authorities today identified a woman who was killed when the car she was driving crashed in the Lancaster area.

The crash occurred at about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday on Avenue F near 85th Street West, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Joline Salas, 20, died at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner's office reported. Her city of residence was not known.

According to the CHP, Salas was driving an Acura sedan ``at a high rate of speed with high winds in the area'' when her car veered right and she lost control of the vehicle.

Salas was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car when it left the roadway and overturned, the CHP reported. Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected to be a factor in the collision, according to the CHP.
