BELLFLOWER (CNS) - A man in his 20s has been killed in a shooting that is being investigated as possibly gang related, authorities said today.

Deputies with the Lakewood Sheriff's Station responded at 8:36 p.m. Saturday to reports of a gunshot victim at the intersection of Alondra Boulevard and Eucalyptus Avenue, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

They found the man lying unresponsive on the sidewalk and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Koerner said.

Deputies said the man had been involved in an argument with two other men when one of them pulled out a handgun and shot him.

Both men fled southbound on Eucalyptus Avenue, Koerner said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff's Lt. Derrick Alfred said.

Investigators said the shooting appeared to be gang related, but no further information was available about the circumstances or the suspects.

Anyone with information was urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
