SANTA ANA (CNS) - A former Westminster Police Department civilian investigator pleaded guilty to putting in bogus requests for overtime and was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, according to court records obtained today.

Nadia Arlett Alvarez Poblete altered time sheets to show she worked twice the amount of hours she actually put in, the Orange County District Attorney's Office said. Prosecutors alleged Poblete was paid for 566 hours she did not work between Jan. 6 and Oct. 22, 2021, for a total of $12,106.74 in bogus overtime claims.

Poblete, 26, of Huntington Beach, pleaded guilty to a felony count of grand theft by employee on Wednesday. As part of the plea deal, 14 felony counts of presenting a false claim were dismissed. Poblete was also placed on two years of probation.
