SANTA ANA (CNS) - A registered sex offender was behind bars today on charges of sexually assaulting a girl in Lake Forest over the course of a year.
Alejandro Deleon Deleon was charged Tuesday with five counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14. The charges come about seven years after he was freed from jail in a plea bargain involving the molestation of another girl in Anaheim. Deleon pleaded guilty March 20, 2015, to sexually assaulting a victim in September 2012 and was sentenced to three years, or time already served, as part of the plea deal from an Orange County Superior Court judge, according to court records.
Deleon, who was being held without bail, was accused of sexually assaulting the girl multiple times over the course of a year in 2016, according to Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Braun did not know the age of the alleged victim.
Deleon knew the victim, but they were not related, Braun said. The victim came forward to authorities about a month ago, Braun said.
