LONG BEACH (CNS) - A Hawthorne resident was charged today with murder for the shooting death of a man in Long Beach after a verbal dispute. Kelly Anderson Bayloe, 49, is set to be arraigned April 27 in a Long Beach courtroom on one count each of murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to Ricardo Santiago of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Bayloe was arrested Monday in Inglewood following an extensive investigation into Ryan Pearson's killing last week, according to a statement from the Long Beach Police Department.

Police said Bayloe was identified as the suspect allegedly responsible for approaching a group of men in the 6100 block of Long Beach Boulevard around 9 p.m. last Friday, getting into a verbal dispute and opening fire before leaving the scene, Long Beach police reported.

Pearson, a Long Beach resident, suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to police. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he died. Bayloe remains jailed in lieu of just over $2 million bail.
