WESTMINSTER (CNS) - A man attempted to get a 14-year-old girl to enter his car as she walked to school in Westminster today.

The girl was walking in the area of Edwards Street and Humboldt Street, near Johnson Middle School, about 8:20 a.m. when she was approached by= the suspect in a white sedan, according to the Westminster Police Department.

The suspect pulled up next to the girl, rolled down the window and ``was persistently asking the victim several times'' if she wanted a ride. The girl refused, but the suspect continued to follow her.

The suspect eventually drove away, and the girl told officials of the incident once she arrived at school, according to police.

The suspect was described as a man who is about 30-years-old with a shaved head. His vehicle was described as having tinted windows and a license plate beginning with 4C.

Anyone with information on the suspect was asked to call the Westminster Police Department at 714-548-3212.
