Authorities ID Woman Fatally Shot in Inglewood

INGLEWOOD (CNS) - A woman who was fatally shot in Inglewood was identified by authorities today, as the investigation continued into her death.

Officers sent to the 800 block of West Beach Avenue at about noon Sunday on reports of a shooting found the woman unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds in a residence, according to Lt. Greg Held of the Inglewood Police Department.

Jodonna Watson, 25, died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office and police. The case has been placed on a security hold, according to the coroner's office.

Police said earlier that a person of interest known to the woman had been detained, but no further details have been released.
