ANAHEIM (CNS) - Three people were killed early today in a fiery crash in Anaheim.

Patrol officers were at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and La Palma Avenue at 1:58 a.m. when a 2021 Mercedes Benz rocketed past them, turning east on La Palma to southbound Harbor when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, Anaheim police Sgt. Jacob Gallacher said.

The car went ``airborne'' before slamming into a wall in the 800 block of North Harbor Boulevard, splitting the car in half as it caught fire and then sheared off a fire hydrant, Gallacher said.

One of the occupants of the car was ejected, the sergeant said. The officers on scene ran over to try to revive one of the men, but the victim was later pronounced dead, Gallacher said.

Another person in the car burned in the fully engulfed car, Gallacher said.

All three were men in their 20s, Gallacher said. Authorities were working to identify them, he added.
