POMONA (CNS) - Three people were shot, one fatally, in Pomona today.
The shooting was reported at about 1:15 p.m. in the 400 block of East Olive Street, near the Pomona (60) Freeway, close to an apartment complex in the area, according to the Pomona Police Department.
One man was found in an alleyway and pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics. The victim's name was not immediately released pending notification of his next of kin.
Another man was found in the area suffering gunshot wounds, and police learned of a third gunshot victim who was taken to a hospital prior to their arrival. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Police advised the public to avoid the area as detectives investigated the shooting.
