INGLEWOOD (CNS) - Traffic was snarled for roughly two hours today on the San Diego (405) Freeway near Inglewood because of concerns that a man on an overcrossing was intending to jump.

The southbound 405 Freeway was closed near Florence Avenue/La Cienega Boulevard about 8:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Northbound traffic also was brought to a halt as officers and paramedics responded, and traffic quickly backed up for miles in both directions.

The man was taken into custody about 10:20 a.m. and the lanes were reopened, according to the CHP.
