SHERMAN OAKS (CNS) - A woman who taught at a school in Sherman Oaks has been arrested on sex-related charges, authorities announced today.
Samantha A. Arizabal, 24, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to three counts of lewd act on a child under 14 and one count of distributing or showing pornography to a minor, according to Ricardo Santiago of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Arizabal was arrested following a report of alleged ongoing inappropriate sexual conduct while she was employed at Ivy Bound Academy, where she had worked since 2020, according to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Her current status with the school was not immediately available.
Arizabal was taken into custody last Friday by the LAPD's Juvenile
Division and released Tuesday on bond, jail records show.
She is due back in court May 10, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to allow the case against her to proceed to trial.
The LAPD asked that any additional alleged victims or anyone who has information regarding Arizabal contact LAPD Juvenile Division detectives at 818-374-5415.
