LONG BEACH (CNS) - The Long Beach Police Department today announced it will publish reports for the public to access preliminary information on police activity in the city.

The reports will be published daily on the LBPD's website at 10 a.m., and will contain ``preliminary information about incidents that may have occurred the previous evening, including shootings, stabbings, traffic fatality and murder investigations,'' according to a department statement.

The reports will also contain information on enforcement efforts and arrests, and will be updated as new incidents occur in Long Beach.

``The new blotter on our website demonstrates the Long Beach Police Department's commitment to modernizing communications," said LBPD Chief Wally Hebeish. ``This new tool leverages technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of transparent information sharing''
