Appropriately announced on Mario day (March 10th), Universal Studios Hollywood revealed that fans can look forward to stepping foot into Super Nintendo World next year.

The first iteration of the theme park attraction opened in Japan back in 2021, but this will be the first of its kind to open in the United States.

The partnership between Universal and Nintendo promises to transport visitors into the “world of Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach to become part of their compelling universe.”

Within the world will be attractions inspired by Nintendo characters and video games with a ride and interactive areas. Additionally, of course, there will be themed shopping and dining locations. Universal revealed all this information in a news release. It remains a secret regarding what the ride will be like, but if any of the other attractions within the theme park are telling, it’s sure to be a blast!

Japan’s Super Mario World features a ride where fans can race on Mario Kart courses that feature augmented reality, projection mapping and screen projection.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to retail items being available for purchase at the theme park’s Feature Presentation retail store, much like they did when Harry Potter World opened, with merchandise like Mario and Luigi themed apparel and plush characters.
