LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles International Airport is adding another carrier, with Breeze Airways offering direct flights to Providence, Rhode Island, Norfolk, Virginia and Savannah, Georgia, beginning in June and July, officials announced today.

``We are thrilled to have Breeze Airways offer its service at LAX, adding three new nonstop destinations from L.A., further growing the West Coast connectivity across the nation and bringing new innovations and technology to LAX,'' said Justin Erbacci, CEO of Los Angeles World Airports.

``As air travel continues to recover, there is a growing demand for nonstop flights between LAX and East Coast destinations, and we are pleased that Breeze Airways shares our goal to provide our passengers with more flight options this summer and beyond,'' Erbacci added.

Breeze Airways will begin operations out of the Tom Bradley International Terminal to pilot a new technologically driven check-in process without the use of a ticket counter. Passengers will check-in through the airline's app while a Breeze mobile team assists them with baggage drop-off.

Breeze Airways, which began service in May 2021, primarily served the eastern and southeastern United States. The addition of flights at LAX is part of the airline's broader U.S. expansion, which will add 35 routes this summer from 10 new cities, coast to coast.

The airline is also adding 80 new Airbus A220-300s, and will use the new crafts on the Los Angeles routes.

``The A220-300 is a game-changer for us as we now add long-haul flights and transcontinental service,'' Breeze Airways CEO David Neeleman said.

``The A220 embodies the Breeze ideal of merging kindness with technology, pairing unrivaled passenger comfort with eco-friendly efficiency. With the A220, Breeze is giving our guests the widest cabin, highest ceiling, largest windows and biggest overhead stowage in this class, while still managing to burn 25% less fuel, with half the noise footprint of past generations.''

The Providence flights will operate Wednesdays and Saturdays starting June 29.

The Norfolk flights will operate Thursdays, Sundays and Tuesdays starting June 30.

Savannah flights will operate Fridays and Mondays starting July 1.

The airline is offering three price bundles on all the routes, which it terms ``Nice,'' ``Nicer'' and ``Nicest.'' One-way ticket prices are set at $99, $189 and $199.
