SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 30-year-old man was charged today with sexually assaulting a pregnant woman in a bathroom of a corporate office building in La Palma last month.

Robert Keondra Williams pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana Friday. Williams, who works in telecommunications, was arrested Wednesday and was being held on about $1 million bail, according to jail records.

The victim, who is 38, was about to leave work for the day Feb. 17 when she was forced back into a bathroom she had just exited and was punched in the face, breaking her nose, before she was sexually assaulted, said Kimberly Edds, a spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Williams was charged with sexual penetration by a foreign object, kidnapping to commit a sex offense, robbery, criminal threats, attempted forcible rape, battery with serious bodily injury and false imprisonment. He also faces sentencing enhancements for kidnapping to commit a sex offense and inflicting great bodily injury on the victim.
