LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A motorist in a vehicle was found shot dead this morning in the Florence community of unincorporated Los Angeles County, authorities said.
The motorist's passenger, a woman, was found uninjured inside the vehicle, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported.
Deputies dispatched at 12:55 a.m. near the intersection of East 77th Street and Crockett Boulevard, regarding gunshots heard in the area, located the vehicle, which had struck a parked vehicle.
Arriving paramedics pronounced the motorist dead at the scene. The woman, who was also inside the vehicle, was not injured.
