LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles Fire Department crews recovered a body from the water near an overturned 10-foot skiff near the Port of Los Angeles this afternoon.
The body was found at 1:43 p.m., according to fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
An LAFD dive team searched the area but found no other victims, Humphrey said.
The age and gender of the victim was not immediately released. The person's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The L.A. Port Police will be handling the death investigation, Humphrey said.
