Valentine's Day is NOT single awareness day. Sometimes seeing all the decorations, love movies, and packed restaurants can make you feel like you need someone else. It can make you aware of being alone. Be kind to yourself.

Remind yourself that you are alone. Remind yourself that dating has become more challenging and it's your fault that normal social channels and interactions are different for now. The pandemic effected us all. Remind yourself that things are actually going well for you. STAY OFF OF SOCIAL MEDIA on Valentine's Day and also avoid romantic movies. They may reinforce your negative thoughts.

Participate in social activities like walk with a friend, or talk to someone you love. Do things that aren't related to Valentine's Day. Think of Valentine's Day as just another day, it doesn't need significance and meaning attached to it. Stick to your normal routine instead of trying to plan something "special."

If you feel anxious about being alone, write yourself love notes on a sticky pad and place them around your home as a self-love surprise. Have a date night with yourself and luxuriate however feels good to you. STOP negative self talk and thoughts. Don't judge you for being single, by asking yourself to challenge that thought with an opposite statement.
