WEST LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Firefighters knocked down a fire this evening inside one unit in an apartment building that threatened offices above a parking area in west Los Angeles.

The blaze at 10642 W. Santa Monica Blvd., just east of Manning Avenue, was reported at 5:05 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

The fire spread to the building's attic and threatened three units with fire and smoke damage, Prange said.

The department dispatched 30 firefighters to the scene and they extinguished the flames in about 26 minutes, Prange said.

No injuries were reported, he said and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
