The family of a 54-year-old Anaheim woman killed when her SUV plowed into the back of a tractor-trailer on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Jurupa Valley has set up a GoFundMe page for her funeral costs.

The site for Deadra Hughes had raised $645 as of Sunday. It can be found at www.gofundme.com. The crash was reported at about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday on the eastbound freeway near Valley Way, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officer Juan Quintero said Deadra Hughes of Anaheim was driving her Nissan Rogue in the No. 3 lane when she approached a UPS big rig going 55 to 60 mph just ahead of her.

Quintero said Hughes may not have had her headlights activated as she closed in on the truck. ``The front of the Nissan collided with the rear of the UPS tractor,'' the CHP spokesman said. ``The Nissan then veered across all traffic lanes, struck the median wall and came to rest in the HOV lane.' The trucker, who was not hurt, immediately stopped and called 911. Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within a few minutes and employed life-saving measures on Hughes, who was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where she died a half-hour later, according to the CHP. Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the Riverside CHP office at 951-637-8000.
