A Michigan police dog is being credited with saving the life of a Pennsylvania man who became lost in the woods amid frigid temperatures.

The dog, Ghost, was called into action Sunday after the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office received a report that a 58-year-old man had gone missing in a densely wooded area in Gerrish Township, authorities say... The temperature at the time was 11 degrees.

After picking up the man's scent, Ghost tracked him for about a half-mile through an exceptionally dense area before finally catching up to him, says his handler, Deputy Dakota Darsow.

The man, whose name has not been released, is expected to make a full recovery, officials say.
