Four people were killed and another person was wounded in a shooting today at a house party in Inglewood.  Firefighters and paramedics were sent to the 1300 block of Park Avenue at 1:43 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher. None of the victims lived there. It was a short-term unregulated rental, according to Inglewood Mayor James Butts.

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene and paramedics rushed two others to a hospital. Butts said one of the wounded later died at the hospital. The surviving victim was gang-affiliated, Butts said. He was last reported in critical condition but was expected to survive. Two of the victims who died were reported to be female. Butts said there were multiple shooters, at least one of whom used an assault weapon. The other weapon involved was a handgun, Butts said.

``These are sociopathic killers that have to be sequestered from society,'' the mayor said at a Sunday morning news conference.

No suspect descriptions were immediately available.
