LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Westside motorists could encounter some afternoon rush-hour delays today thanks to an anticipated weekend stopover by Vice President Kamala Harris.
Harris will be in San Bernardino Friday afternoon with Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, receiving a briefing on efforts to prevent and mitigate wildfires. They will both make public remarks about funding included in the federal infrastructure package aimed at bolstering wildfire preparedness and response.
The vice president and her husband, Doug Emhoff, are scheduled to fly to Los Angeles International Airport late Friday afternoon, en route for a weekend stay at their home in Brentwood.
The pair have no pre-announced public appearances planned during their time in the Southland. They are scheduled to return to Washington, D.C., on Monday.
No details have been announced about Harris' travel plans between LAX and Brentwood, but a motorcade is likely to cause some traffic disruptions in the area.
