LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Some high winds are headed back to the Los Angeles area tomorrow.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory that will run from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday for the Los Angeles County Mountains, excluding the Santa Monica Range, as well as the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys. The advisory also extends to parts of Ventura County.
According to the NWS, northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, are expected. Winds may begin a little earlier in the mountains, the NWS said.
The advisory came with warnings that the high winds can blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Areas noted by the weather service for caution include the Golden State (5) and Antelope Valley (14) freeways.
In addition, tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result, the weather service said.
The Santa Ana winds will also drive up temperatures, with forecasters saying the area will have above-average temperatures Thursday. Breezy and warm conditions are also expected Saturday.
