LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Koretz today introduced a motion to create a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of a man who fatally stabbed a 24-year- old woman in the Hancock Park boutique furniture store where she worked.
Brianna Kupfer, of Pacific Palisades, was found inside Croft House in the 300 block of North La Brea Avenue about 1:50 p.m. Thursday, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. She died at the scene.
Police said Kupfer was working alone at the time of the attack.
``The officers met with the reporting party, a customer who had entered the store and discovered the victim deceased on the floor,'' police said in a statement.
"Detectives have determined the suspect was not known to the victim and was a random walk-in to the store,'' police said. ``The suspect attacked the victim with a knife and fled the scene through the back door.
``The suspect was last seen on video surveillance, northbound in the alley to the rear of the crime scene.''
The man was believed to be homeless and was described as tall and thin, according to police. He was wearing a dark hoodie, sunglasses, a white N-95 mask, dark skinny jeans and dark shoes. He was carrying a dark backpack.
