The Los Angeles Unified School District has ordered all students and staff to get tested for COVID-19 prior to returning to class next week.
With an uptick in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Los Angeles County, the second-largest school district in the nation is implementing mandatory COVID-19 testing for all students and staff.

Students and staff are required to get tested no later than Sunday and families will need to upload test results using their LAUSD's "daily pass" account.

Officials with the LAUSD also mentioned that weekly COVID-19 testing will continue through the month of January. Masking is also required for all students in indoor and outdoor settings.

For those that are not able to find an appointment or at-home test, at-home rapid tests are available for all K-12 LAUSD students with pick up on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8 am to 12 pm at any LAUSD grab-and-go site. Each student will be given two tests.
The City of Los Angeles will also be offering free at-home test kits, they would be sent to you via mail if you are experiencing symptoms or believe you have been exposed to COVID-19.
