Man's Vehicle Gets Stuck On Train Tracks, Hit By Freight Train

LANCASTER (CNS) - A man who suffered a medical emergency lost control of his vehicle today, crashed through a fence and got stuck on train tracks in Lancaster before he was rescued by Los Angeles County firefighters.

The crash near Avenue J and Sierra Highway was reported at 3:18 p.m., according to Lt. Clinton Skaggs of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

A message was sent to the Union Pacific freight train but the train couldn't slow down in time and slammed into the man's vehicle. Fortunately, he wasn't inside when it was hit.

Paramedics took the man to a hospital for treatment of his unspecified medical condition.
