NORTHRIDGE (CNS) - The Cal State Northridge women's basketball team has paused all activities due to COVID-19 protocols within the program, including canceling its next two scheduled games.

The home games scheduled for Thursday against UC Irvine and Saturday against UC San Diego will be canceled, and under the recently adjusted Big West Conference policies, the games will be declared no contests and not be rescheduled.

The Matadors (4-6) are next scheduled to play Jan. 6 at Cal State Bakersfield in what would be their first conference game of the season.

Cal State Northridge canceled its entire women's basketball season last season because coronavirus-related opt-outs left it with six players.
