Over 90 flights were canceled today at LAX and more than 2,700 were canceled around the world. According to the tracking site FlightAware.com, sixteen cancellations were listed today at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport. Officials are blaming the cancellations on airline staffing shortages caused by the Omicron variant and the latest surge in cases.
LAX tweeted Sunday morning:
Today is expected to be another peak travel day at #LAX with up to 200,000 passengers using the airport! Make sure to arrive early for your flight, pre-book parking at http://parking.flylax.com, and please wear your mask - wishing everyone #HealthyHolidays #LAXTravelSafely.
