LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A woman is suing the city of Los Angeles and the owners of the Morrison Hotel for injuries she suffered after tripping on a public sidewalk while attending a 2020 event paying tribute to the rock band the Doors, whose members named their fifth studio album after the downtown establishment.
Plaintiff Marcia McAdoo of Florida -- the home state of the late Doors frontman Jim Morrison -- brought the lawsuit Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging premises liability and negligence. She seeks unspecified damages.
Representatives for the city and the hotel could not be immediately reached.
McAdoo attended the fourth annual ``Day of the Doors'' event at the hotel in the 1200 block of South Hope Street in which the building's facade was restored to how it looked when it was captured on the cover of the band's
``Morrison Hotel'' album, which was released 50 years earlier in 1970, according to the suit.
As she entered the hotel, she tripped on a damaged public sidewalk in front of the location, causing her to lose her footing and fall, the suit states.
The hotel had no signs or warnings people of the ``unreasonably dangerous condition,'' the suit states.
