Average LA County Gas Price Drops

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped six-tenths of a cent today to $4.673 after rising four-tenths of a cent over the previous two days.

The average price is nine-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 2.8 cents lower than one month ago but $1.491 more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 4.3 cents since hitting the record high of $4.716 on Nov. 27.

The Orange County average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $4.641 after remaining unchanged for three consecutive days. It is seven-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 3 cents lower than one month ago but $1.479 higher than one year ago. It has dropped 4.8 cents since moving within one-tenth of a cent of equaling its record high Nov. 26.
