TORRANCE (CNS) - Authorities today sought the public's help to find the suspects responsible for a possible gang-related shooting that left three people wounded, one critically, in a parking lot of the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance.

Officers were sent to the south parking lot near a BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse in the 3500 block of West Carson Street about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, and they found several shell casings in the area but no victims, according to the Torrance Police Department.

The officers learned that three to four suspects approached the three victims, opened fire and fled southbound across Carson Street to the mall's Dave & Buster's, where they carjacked a Chevrolet SUV and fled. The victim of the carjacking was not injured, and the vehicle was not found.

About 45 minutes afterward, police learned that the three shooting victims had been taken to a hospital before police got to the shooting scene.

The victims, described only as ``ages 17 or older,'' remained hospitalized Wednesday, and all were expected to survive, police Sgt. Mark Ponegalek said.

``Detectives are looking into this shooting as possibly being gang-related and not a random attack on a group of teenagers,'' Ponegalek said.

Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call police at 310-328-3456.
