HYDE PARK (CNS) - Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire at a two-story residential structure today in Hyde Park.

Fire crews were called at 5:07 a.m. to the 5700 block of South Sixth Avenue to a single-family dwelling with smoke showing from the second floor and initiated an offensive fire attack, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

The blaze was knocked down in 13 minutes.

Stewart said five residents of the building safely exited and did not require any medical treatment.

There are no injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
