Community Leaders Hanukkah Candle Lighting Set for Grand Park

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles' annual Community Leaders Hanukkah Candle Lighting will be today at Grand Park.  

The event ``will promote religious tolerance and shine the light of mutual respect for diverse faiths and communities in Los Angeles,'' said Alisa Finsten, senior vice president of the federation's Community Engagement Strategic Initiative.  

Mayor Eric Garcetti, Rabbi Noah Farkas, the incoming president of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, and Capri Maddox, executive director of the Los Angeles Civil Rights Department, are set to speak at the 9 a.m. ceremony.  

Los Angeles County Assessor Jeffrey Prang, Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, City Controller Ron Galperin, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, and Los Angeles City Councilmen Bob Blumenfield, Mike Bonin, Paul Koretz, Paul Krekorian and John Lee and Councilwoman Nithya Raman are among those set to light candles.
