SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 38-year-old Costa Mesa woman has been arrested on suspicion of participating in several thefts of expensive retail stores, authorities said today.
Police recovered 2,333 stolen goods worth $328,683 from Ekatarina Zharkova's residence, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A task force on organized retail crime had Zharkova under surveillance and saw her stealing from multiple stores throughout Southern California, the CHP reported Wednesday.
Zharkova is accused of stealing expensive brand-name goods such as Gucci, Prada, Ramy Brook, Dodo Bar and Jimmy Choo and would use tools to take off sensor devices before leaving stores with the stolen goods, the CHP reported.
Zharkova was seen stealing from the Nordstrom Rack store at the Metro Pointe at South Coast shopping center in Costa Mesa, allegedly stealing merchandise worth about $3,500, the CHP reported. She was arrested Nov. 23 when she got to her car.
Zharkova was released when she posted bail Nov. 25, according to jail records.
