SANTA CLARITA (CNS) - Authorities today publicly identified a 56-year-old man who was killed in a crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita.
Miguel Gonzalez of Stevenson Ranch was identified as the victim, the coroner's office said.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics were called about 6 p.m. Tuesday to the northbound Golden State Freeway just south of Calgrove Boulevard on reports of a collision between an SUV and a semi truck, according to a department spokesperson.
Gonzalez was rescued from the SUV and taken to a hospital, but died of injuries he sustained in the crash.
No other injuries were reported in the collision. The cause was not immediately known.
