There has been an increase in smash-and-grab robberies across SoCal. Late last night, thieves broke into the Nordstrom store at the Grove in Los Angeles.

The robbery occurred at approximately 10:45 pm on Monday night.

Rick Caruso, founder and developer of the Grove, discussed the break-in. He stated that the break-in occurred at the Nordstrom store, but the thieves never entered the Grove.

A reporter for KNBC-TV spoke to the head of security for the Grove - he said that no other businesses at the outdoor mall were impacted by the break-in.

The thieves were able to escape the scene before authorities arrived. A few hours later, LAPD began pursuing a vehicle that was believed to be involved in the incident. Three individuals were arrested before 3 am.

The Nordstrom store was not the only store in Los Angeles that was broken into on Monday evening - a CVS store on South Vermont Avenue was also broken into.

Thieves were able to steal about $8,500 in cash and three cash registers.
