LONG BEACH (CNS) - While there are no known credible threats of violence or planned protests, the Long Beach Police Department said today it will enact measures to deter crime throughout the city.

The statement posted on social media was “in response to law enforcement-related incidents in other cities,” the LBPD said.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we are increasing our visibility in business and entertainment areas throughout the city to engage our community members, deter and prevent crime and protect our city and residents,” the LBPD said.

The LBPD maintains communication with law enforcement partners and will continue to monitor national, regional and local events, the department said.
