Woman, Husband Sue Over Her Injuries Incurred on Magic Mountain X2 Coaster

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A Santa Clarita husband and wife are suing Magic Mountain after the woman suffered a traumatic brain injury and other medical complications while riding the X2 roller coaster in 2020.

Sheila Katerelos, 51, and her husband, Ari, brought the suit Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court against Magic Mountain LLC, Six Flags Theme Park Inc. and other parties, alleging negligence, strict product liability, negligent product liability and loss of consortium. The couple seek unspecified damages.

A Magic Mountain representative did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

Sheila Katerelos' injuries occurred at the Valencia theme park on Feb. 16, 2020, but the suit provides no details of how she was hurt on theroller coaster. She will continue to incur medical expenses and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, the suit states.

The roller coaster had a design defect and the theme park failed to warn visitors of its potential danger, the suit states.

Ari Katerelos, 48, has been deprived of the comfort and affection of his wife because of her injuries, the suit states.
