November 11th is symbolic because this date recognizes the Armistice of 11 November 1918 - when Germany and allied forces came together and signed the peace treaty.

Veteran's Day used to be called, "Armistice Day", but was renamed, "Veteran's Day" in 1954.

Usually, on Veteran's Day, nonessential government offices like post offices are usually closed. Most banks are usually closed on this holiday.

On Veteran's Day, it s important to thank all of those who have served in the military, while on "Memorial Day" we remember all of those fallen soldiers who died in service.
