A man accused of stealing a big rig surrendered to police after an eight-hour chase and overnight standoff on a California freeway.
- Officers say the truck was stolen Wednesday night from a food service lot in East Los Angeles. Police used spike strips to blow out its tires, but the suspect continued to drive.
- The suspect finally stopped on the 55 Freeway in Santa Ana, blocking traffic while engaged in a standoff with police that lasted until 8:30 Thursday morning.
