Atlanta Braves Capture Franchise's 1st World Series Since 1995

They're gonna party like it's 1995.

  • The Atlanta Braves won their first World Series in 26 years on Tuesday, knocking out the Houston Astros 7-0 in Game 6.
  • With the win, the Braves closed the series 4-2 and clinched their first World Series title since 1995.
  • Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman said, "I'm at a loss for words. This is it. This is everything you work for."
  • Max Fried threw six shutout innings and Jorge Soler was named World Series MVP after hitting three home runs in six games, including a mammoth 446-foot three-run homer in the top of the third.
  • Keep in mind, the Braves weren't above .500 until August 6 - what sparked the turnaround to make them World Series champs?
