LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Los Angeles Department of Transportation's on- demand, micro-transit service LAnow returned today with free rides throughout November in Del Rey, Venice, Mar Vista and Palms.
LAnow will operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and all rides are free for the month of November. After that, adults and children over five ride for $1.50 each way, seniors ride for 75 cents and children four or younger ride free.
"LA Now gives people in many Westside neighborhoods an alternative to being stuck in gridlock,'' said Councilman Mike Bonin. "I'm excited we are resuming this program for Mar Vista, Venice, Del Rey, Palms and parts of Playa Vista, and I'm thrilled to be able to introduce this innovative shuttle-hailing service with a month of free rides.''
LAnow was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. During the suspension, LADOT upgraded the mobile app, and riders who have used the program in the past will need to download the new app before booking and paying for rides. People can request a ride through the LAnow app: ladottransit.com/lanow.
"I was excited about the potential of this program when it was first launched several years ago," said Councilman Paul Koretz. ``I am most pleased now to see this re-launch, which will again serve our constituents in the Palms and Westside Village neighborhoods of my district. This gives area residents another viable option for travel, especially those commuting via Metro's Expo E-Line."
